2. Underground distribution cable has a solid/compressed/compact stranded conductor made up of copper and aluminum per ASTM B3, ASTM B8, ASTM B230 and ASTM B231.
  The cable has a concentric neutral of bare or tinned copper wires that is helically applied over the insulation shield.

2. Service drop aluminum cable has three phase conductors made up of concentrically compact stranded aluminum alloy 1350-H19 wires, insulated with PE or cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), and one neutral messenger of AAC/AAAC/ACSR.
  SD cable is used in low voltage overhead power lines, outdoor lighting and temporary wiring.
